Mega, also known by their stage name MegaGoneFree, is an American singer and content creator who became known for their covers with their ukulele. Mega is non-binary and uses they/she pronouns.
Content & Popularity[]
Mega's first post was on January 6, 2019, and they would gain increasing popularity around late 2020, and in 2021, most of their posts would consist of them doing ukulele covers. Their most viewed video was posted on June 24, 2021, and is of them doing a cover to the song Beggin' by Måneskin. As of April 16, 2022, the video has 37.3 million views, with the audio having been used in 63.5K videos.[3] Their most liked video as of February 15, 2025 is a cover of the song Bubbblegum Bitch by Marina & The Diamonds posted on January 6, 2021.[3]
Mega has also released their own songs. Their most recent song, Take This L, is a fun pop song that encourages people to break free from societal expectations of what they should be. Their song Thermostat is about the feeling of being taken advantage of and 'the outside perspective of a people pleaser and all the baggage that comes with that'.[4] Their song Ctrl+Del is about 'the struggles of trying to be yourself on social media'.[5]
In an interview with Unclear Magazine, they had stated that the main goal of their music is for people to 'hear and relate to it'.[4]
In February 2022, during Black History Month, Mega was among the TikTokers nominated as a 'Black TikTok Trailblazer'.[6][7]According to TikTok, this initiative is "all about championing the next generation of digital entertainment leaders." [8]

Personal life[]
They are from Baltimore, Maryland.[5] According to an interview with Mundane Magazine, they were 15/16 when they joined a club at their high school and started 'taking songwriting seriously'. After high school, they took a hiatus from music, and would pick it up again in late 2020.[13]
